Meet the Coaches:

Coach Brittany Hay

2011 graduate from Rowlett High School where she started on Varsity all 4 years.  As a Lady Eagle, Brittany was a 3-time All District winner, 2010 District 10-5A Defensive Player of the Year, and a DFW All Area All-Star.  She played club for James Foust on the Dallas Tigers Gold where she saw many qualifier tournaments, attended many college showcases, and camps.   

         After high school, she played 2 years for Head Coach Mike Reed at The University of Texas at Tyler, where she was a lead off slap hitter and starting short-stop.  In 2012, the Patriots finished 39-9, ASC East Division Champions, American Southwest Conference champions, NCAA Regional Runner-Up, and finished ranked #6 in the final NFCA Ranking. The following season (2013), the Patriots finished 47-6, ASC East Division Champions, American Southwest Conference Runner-Up, NCAA Regional Champions, placed 4th in the NCAA Women’s College World Series in Wisconsin, and finished ranked #3 in the final NFCA Ranking. 

         After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2015, she moved back to the Dallas area and gave back to the sport by Head coaching the 14U NTX Blaze for a season, the Rowlett High School JV Fall league, and the John Paul High School fall league.

         Brittany eventually grabbed the role of the Graduate Assistant Coach and Head of Softball Operations at East Texas Baptist University a long side Head coach Janae Shirley and Hall of Fame Coach Bill Galloway.  ETBU softball finished their season 35-10, 2016 American Southwest Conference Champions, an NCAA Regional Tournament appearance, and finished ranked #8 in the final NFCA Ranking.

          Brittany is now working towards her master’s degree in Counseling and continues to give back to the softball community through USSSA Pride.  Brittany has given numerous lessons and clinics, to all age groups both privately and through the DBAT franchise. 

Coach Jamie Henk

Jamie has played softball since she was 4 years old, which eventually carried on throughout her success as an athlete.

         Jamie was a 2014 graduate from Porter High School where she started on Varsity softball and basketball all 4 years of her high school career. During her softball career at PHS, she was named 2nd team All- District both her freshman and sophomore seasons. Jamie was the Offensive player of the Year in her Junior season and Defensive Player of the Year in her final season at Porter High School. She played club for Texas Sting 18U Gold, coached by Bob Morse where saw many qualifier tournaments, attended college showcases, and camps. Jamie also gained Division 1 recognition from Head Coach Patty Gasso from the University of Oklahoma and was personally invited to an invitation-only practice and tour of the University and softball facilities.

        After high school, she continued her softball career through an athletic scholarship under Head Coach Kelly Saenz at San Jacinto College-South. Jamie started both seasons in the outfield and was a right-handed hitter.

         In her first year at San Jacinto, she helped lead the team to an overall record of 34-25 (15-9 in Conference play) and placed 7th in the Region XIV tournament.

         During the 2016 season and in her sophomore year at San Jac, Jamie helped lead the team to an overall record of 38-25 (14-10 in conference play), 1st NFCA Midwest, a Regional XIV tournament Championship, and advancing to the Women’s College World Series where they finished 6th.

         After her 2 years at SJC, Jamie decided not to further her softball career and to focus on her studies. She now attends Sam Houston State University where she is working towards a degree in Kinesiology and Minor in Secondary Education.

         Jamie states that her dream and passion has always been to coach softball. Through this passion, she is now giving hitting lessons to young adults in the North Houston Area and coaching the USSSA Pride.
